Wish I never threw out any of those old HP pen plotters.
They would make good Laser cutter or even UV pen, PCB exposure unit..

I just got an Ozito (Dremel clone) kit that came with a flex shaft.
Less weight to move around if you move the hand piece and not entire motor unit.
Spare parts for 3018 CNC include the cpu/driver PCB.
