I didn't ask whether there is any command line clone tool available. I was just interested to know whether the SD card copier can be used on a non desktop system or there is a similar command line tool included in RaspbianOS.
I learned there is this tool called backup available on github which seems to be an initial clone version. It may have been included in the first RaspbianOSes but then been superceded by the SD card copier in order to have a UI based clone tool available and there is no command line clone tool included in RaspbianOS any more.
Folks started to help me to write my own clone tool or suggested to use other existing tools. That's interesting for folks who look for a command line clone tool and will help them but again: The thread subject just talks about the SD card copier.
