SPI is a bit harsh a UX for smaller displays already, I don't think I would like the update rate ![Wink ;)]()
DSI, I see, nice flat connection with powering, has its attractiveness to it.
But the Pi Zero seems not to have that? (only camera)
Also, the DSI displays are, oddly, even somewhat more costly for one-off, and far fewer to choose from than HDMI.
Anything beyond RasPi Zero, which I happen to have already, would be way overkill anyway. The CPU already is, but lots of RAM sure comes in handy. Otherwise I'd just have used my ESP32 board with 8MB RAM - but that is a bit on the meager side.
I'm not familiar with "DRM" in this context, will look up. Though Qt is not something I love exactly, just an example.
I'd be happy with something like SDL (Simple DirectMedia Layer).
