Interfacing (DSI, CSI, I2C, etc.) • Re: Problem With High Resolutions With DSI Generic Overlay

Hi,

Is this the ultimate solution to the 4 lane problem or there might still be things to do to solve the problem? And can anybody confirm if they were able to observe the desktop image via an analyzer or dumb panel from 4 lane DSI output?

Thanks again.
Hmm, without a compatible display I can't suggest any concrete timings. With the initial version of that PR the horizontal front porch needed to be "long enough" to allow a return to LP11 state - which could be hundreds of pixels.

What timings did you try and what did your analyzer report for the non-working 4-lane case?

There's now an updated version of that PR: https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/pull/6157
It's not very different, but it does relax a timeout which I think means it may work without any need to extend blanking periods. If the blanking periods are short it will just stay in HS mode for the whole vertical active part of the frame.
