So this should be in the next public kernel update/release?
It looks like it was merged into commits for raspberrpi:rpi-6.6.y, and I'm not sure how 6.6.y makes it into the release stream.

If you are not on bookworm, you'll never get this automatically and would need a manual install (like rpi-update),
but you are strongly recommended to switch to bookworm.
