For these 11.8 million parameter models the difference between Hailo 8L performance on the Pi 5 at PCIe 3.0 versus 2.0 speeds is roughly double.

Yes, I saw that also, but that's with the default hat, not a switch hat.

So is the difference in speed down to this latest comparison using different HAT hardware ?

I'll admit I'm not clear on why Gen2 would exceed the cache when the faster Gen3 wouldn't - Seems the wrong way round to me. Or is it that cache with Gen2 is smaller than with Gen3 ?
