General discussion • RP i5 - Audio HDMI problem - VLC Player

New RP Desktop OS install

KODI - no audio issues.

VLC Player - To get audio, I have to right click the OS blue speaker icon in the top right corner. This gives a Device Profile box. Under HDMI, 2 options:

Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output
Off

I select Off, then Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output - and it works. Close VLC player, restart VLC Player and try and play a movie, no audio,

My only current solution is to switch Digital Stereo (HDMI) Output off, then back on again every time I want to watch a movie.

Is there a permanent solution to this problem.
