I'm building a bare bones ( email and web browsing only) portable "iPad" using an RPi Zero 2W with an 8" Waveshare screen. The issue is getting the 'zero' to see the screen monitor. With the Zero mounted on top of the monitor controller ( hat style) everything works fine. But when I relocate the Zero to the side of the monitor controller (to make the design thin) I need to use a right angle HDMI adapter coupled to a HDMI-to-Mini HDMI straight adapter. The controller and Zero now don't see eachother as evidenced a red flash of the controller when power is applied and a blank screen. I seem to have narrowed it down to the HDMI-to-Mini HDMI straight adapter, assuming they should be straight thru.
I've checked the wiring of the straight adapter with a multimeter and the they are not straight through, ie, pin 1 on the HDMI end is not connected to pin 1 on the mini HDMI end, etc. The only pins which are common to each other are the grounds.
The straight adapter I'm using is a Male HDMI to Male Mini HDMI ( which is hard to find). The Male to Female are easy to find.
The Right angle adapter is a 90 degree Male HDMI to Female HDMI (easy to find but Male to Male are hard to find.)
Does anyone have any info on the HDMI....Mini HDMI adapter issues I'm experiencing here.
I'd really like to get this to work as I've got everything placed into a 5"x8"x 5/8" thick area including battery and Power booster.
Regards, Tom
