Your simple circuit diagram looks OK. What happens if you connect the gate pin to 3.3V, 5V or 0V?

With my simple code the mosfet is not turning off even tho after a 1 seconds the volt is 0v already

Im not sure if there's mistake with wiring or not

The output remains 12v even I supply 0v to the gate after 1 sec
