True Indian laws arent well defined. Infact the supplier didnt even provide a invoice ! All that is mentioned is that raspberry pi products have a limited 1 year warranty.
In the UK we also have the Consumer Rights Act 2015, which gives the user a lot more power, for instance:
If the goods arrive dead or faulty, you can claim your money back.
If the goods go faulty very quickly, you can get them repaired for free, but the supplier only gets one attempt at this, after that, if the goods still do not work correctly, then you can reject them and claim your money back.
Any claims under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 do not affect your warranty with the manufacturer and are at the suppliers expense.
I haven't a clue what the laws are in India, they probably aren't as generous as UK law.
I can file online complaints in the consumer forums against the seller. But without even knowing what the standard process is, how can i build a case?
I asked raspberrypi the same thing and I was told that raspberrypi cant do anything in this regard as I didnt buy the pi5 from them directly! As far as I understand it (and I not a lawyer), a 'warranty' is supplied by the manufacturer via the end supplier. This means that you have to return the item to your dealer and they submit a warranty claim on the manufacturer.
If they cant do nothing about such seller tactics , I dont understand what is the necessity to have " authorised sellers"
The seller isn't responding again. Its been 15 days since the item reached the seller.
