The developer did, and the new owner seems to be trying to develop bits. It's all MIT licensed: DexterInd/GoPiGo3: The GoPiGo3 is a Raspberry Pi Robot!If people find it and want to use it elsewhere, then put it on github and have them help you make it work on other setups too.
tbh, it doesn't look like the world's most complex hardware: two DC motor drivers, a servo driver and a distance sensor. What they've implemented around this hardware may be a lot more complex.
