However I appreciate that a "pi-like" user & name associated with certain groups to access parts of a Pi's hardware might be useful/helpful when trying to apply older tools and associated docs. which tend to refer to "pi" as the main/only user of such.Sorry, user pi is not authorized to execute as root on raspberrypi?
I also note that, as yet, @Luosi has not returned to this thread to clarify the "need" for "root access" and I'm beginning to hear alarm bells!
