I am attempting to use a Pi4B and a Touch Display 2 in order to produce a wall-mount kiosk. However, powering this via POE with the official POE+ hat causes what seems to be a I2C conflict with the Touch Display 2.
When the POE+ hat is present:
Is there a solution or workaround that will work for the Display 2? Is this combination simply not possible in Bookworm?
When the POE+ hat is present:
- The touch input does not function
- Control signals sent to the display to change its brightness or power state do not function.
- The dmesg log prints the following errors approximately once a second. (These only appear to start happening once the pi pulls updated packages. With the base image dated 2024-11-19, the errors do not appear in the log. However the device still does not function)
Code:
[ 88.829263] Goodix-TS 10-005d: Error writing 1 bytes to 0x814e: -110[ 89.853226] i2c-bcm2835 fe205000.i2c: i2c transfer timed out
Is there a solution or workaround that will work for the Display 2? Is this combination simply not possible in Bookworm?
