Troubleshooting • Booting from network, only when needed?

Hi!

I have a RP 5 in a box, on the roof (for a skycam).
It uses an NVME SSD.
The box is closed and waterproofed.

With SSH, I was trying to mount an USB stick (to use Raspi-Backup).

I changed FSTAB, then... I bricked the PI... it is not booting anymore... Even if I reboot it through my POE+ manageable switch

Super.

So I have to go on the roof to pickup the box, then to remove the silicone and open it.

To avoid to remove and open it again in the future if something append, is it possible to set the PI to boot on NETWORK first, then the SSD?
And if there is nothing available on the network, then it boot on the SSD?

If Yes, how to do it?
I have a laptop with Windows 10 working 24h/24 like a little server.
Is it possible to use it to boot the PI on the network?

I don't know how is it working.
Thank you :)
