It would be surprising if there wasn't any.Should we expect to see new hardware in 2025?
There are a few known products planned but anything else will probably arrive without pre-announcement - Raspberry Pi never pre-announces products except when they do, or their future existence is exposed at trade shows.
Debian usually release a new version every two years, so we should be more than half-way towards Trixie. Releases for a Pi usually arrive a couple of months later. The official Trixie release date still appears to be "TBA" but I would guess as below assuming it takes the same time to bash Trixie into shape as Bookworm. It might however arrive sooner -Is it too early to talk about a Trixie-based OS version?
Code:
.----------------.------------.-------------.-------. | Debian | Released | Pi Release | Lag | |----------------|------------|-------------|-------| | 8 Jessie | Apr 2015 | Sep 2015 | 5 | | 9 Stretch | Jun 2017 | Aug 2017 | 2 | | 10 Buster | Jul 2019 | Jun 2019 | -1 | | 11 Bulseye | Aug 2021 | Nov 2021 | 3 | | 12 Bookworm | Jun 2023 | Oct 2023 | 4 | |----------------|------------|-------------|-------| | 13 Trixie | Jul 2025 | Nov 2025 | 4 | Guesstimates `----------------^------------^-------------^-------'
I would guess probably. In recent years we have had new models every 3-4 years so I'd expect it due in 2027 given the Pi 5 arrived earlier than expected. I wouldn't expect it in 2025, maybe 2026.Have you started work on Pi6 or is it still too soon?
Code:
.-----------.------------. | Version | Released | |-----------|------------| | Pi 3B | 2016 | | Pi 4B | 2019 | | Pi 5 | 2023 | |-----------|------------| | Pi 6 | 2027 | Guesstimate `-----------^------------'
