Some new information. I ran 'ssh -v -X host' and found the followingI'm going to explore the symptom that DISPLAY is not being set on the X11 Client. That could indicate that X Forwarding is not being enabled. Time to dig into logs and '$ ssh -vvv -X thonny' output.
