Just writing to say that this solved the same problem for me today. Thanks very much!Instructions are in that link I gave previously. Look at Updating only the Firmware. Download the zipfile it gives. Unzip it and copy the start*.elf and fixup*.dat (and you might need the bootcode.bin), on to the micro SD card for each Pi.I have the same problem. Bought 10 pcs from a shop that received stocks for the first time in 15 months. This image has been working for years, until now. If I can pay anyone to change the bootfile, tjen please contact me, I dont know how to do that. It's urgent for me to fix this.
You can even do that on a Windows or Mac system, as it can read and write the boot part of the card. Just cancel and ignore any messages saying the card is not formatted. That's the main Linux part which Windows doesn't understand.
If it's an image file you need updating, that can be done on a Pi, but is a bit harder.
