Even though the legs are short, the star topology probably isn't helping. If your final design can't help but have a star, then consider using the DS2482-800 driver chip that provides eight channels, and one channel per leg would alleviate the problem.
Otherwise, in the setup you currently have, try to minimize the capacitance on the data line. This is the what tends to cause problems, as the 1-wire protocol isn't too forgiving about that.
Do not twist the data line with any other connections, and don't shield it. Doing so increases the capacitance between the data line and whatever it is twisted with, and the same principle applies when there is a shield involved. Having power and ground twisted is probably OK.
