The Pi 4 doesn’t throttle clocks until 80C, which wasn’t reached during testing.
I observed no reductions in the 1.5 GHz clock speed. There’s also the `vcgencmd get_throttled` command.
My Pi4 ran at 2.2GHz without throttling using passive cooling like this:

This cooler/case is cheap and very effective. I used liquid metal TIM instead of the thermal pads.
It is better than stick-on heat sinks, even larger ones like this:

I see its available for the Pi5 now ...

By the way, I use this stress test:

Code:

stress-ng --cpu 0 --cpu-method fft
I do like those armour cases, 2.2 GHz is a great result for passive cooling and they look good too. If I didn't use the official cases, my pick would be one of those or a FLIRC.

I initially went with `--cpu-method fft` but the stress-ng man pages suggest that `--matrix` is better for heat generation, and after testing both options I agree with this.

Liquid metal is a brave choice, how do you prevent it from escaping into places it shouldn't?
