Pi0-4 interlace by always taking a frame and alternately dropping odd/even lines for create each field.
Pi5 takes a frame and sends the odd lines, then the even lines (or vice versa) to create the two fields. Slightly different philosophy on how to interlace the content which works better when trying to synchronise playing back interlaced content, but possibly not so great if trying to interlace progressive content.
