Redshift is one. We do not test every single product in that 64000 to see if they work on the Pi, so unless someone reports something as not working, we do not know if it needs to be there or not. One quick test - does the program start up, But that doesn't cover functionality - does the program run, but not work at all, or does it run and 99% of it works but one feature doesn't. Where does the line get drawn? And consider, who decides whether something works "well enough"? That requires knowledge of the application itself. So to be comprehensive, we now need to test 64k applications, with adequate domain knowledge of each one to know whether it works "well enough".
WELL DONT PUT redshift AS A OPTION to install it on the raspberry pi, since i found it does not work it SIMPLE , this is another nail in the coffin, that is turning me off ...........
So, no, it's not "simple" to do.
You've already stated Redshift doesn't work as intended. OK, so now we know it doesn't work as intended. So we might be able to remove it from our repo. We certainly won't be fixing it because it not our software. What might make a difference is the underlying gamma correction code, but that cannot work on a Pi4 (HW fault), but could work on the Pi3 and the Pi 5 as far as I know. So it might work in the future.
Why does getting lots of people helping you and direct information from Pi on the topic add more nails to a coffin?
