I've mused about third party better (mechanical?) keyboards for...well...for a while. Hasn't happened and doesn't look like it will happen. When a Pi 500 arrives, I hope there is an uptake by a keyboard manufacturer to combine the 500 board with a professional keyboard.
I suppose it's possible that the Pi500 will have a better keyboard. It's something that a fair number of people have asked for in one way or another. We won't know until either the RPT releases a new keyboard or releases the Pi500.
So.... To solve your current problem, I suggest that you find a keyboard you like and connect it to a Pi4B, either 4GB (to match the Pi400) or 8GB if you'd also like more DRAM.
