That parameter enables gen3 speeds instead of gen2 speeds. It is optional, so you don't need to add it to PINN.
However, PINN has a config.txt file (just like Raspberry Pi OS and Retropie), so you can add it to there if you want to speed up your installations.
You'll find PINN's config.txt on the RECOVERY partition (/dev/nvme0n1p1)
