The dev kit is exactly that, a development kit for engineers who intend to use the CM5 in embedded devices. It's not meant to replace the Pi 5 and on the whole those engineers are aware of what they are getting.It still seems ODD to me that they would NOT package a non-Lite CM5 in the Development Kit. Or at least put a piece of paper in the box saying the non-Lite module MUST boot from eMMC (at least the first time). Plus a link to the instruction on how to do it.Still for you. Remember CM5 is designed for embedded people who want more performance than a CM4 and are almost certainly designing their own boards.

The CM Lites are also 'low' sellers compared to the eMMC-based models, so having them in the dev kit is not catering to the dev kits main market.
