That is probably due to inertia of being "first affordable sbc", hardware is not everything and developer take years to learn software and API they are stuck in rpi ecosystem... If they switchover all their years of codebase will be wastedMight be news to you, but not everyone is interested in doing AI.
The millions of raspberry pi's sold kind of indicate that people are finding a use for them that doesn't fit in to your view of the world.
Can you give any use case? I started doing it like 3 years back and upgraded hardwares and cameras and CMIO still I havnt been able to make any usable home survellance system.
My neighbour straightaway purchased average IPCAM couple years ago, and motion detection and crystal clear images and nightvision that I cannot compare.... You know these guys were clear on what they are making made it perfect.
Probabbly I am not using it for the right purpose it was intended...
Your technical support is great and deep, API is wonderful, but not having any bit of AI really hurts, I know broadcom cpu doesnt have much capacity, but something was better than nothing
