Dude, the problem is already solved in the next post.I have a pendrive. it was exFAT format. it was detecting on pi 5 with no issues. i formated it to NTFS format. since then, no longer detecting on pi 5. Then i again formatted it to exFAT and it is detecting again...This was my experience... It is 128gb.
I am no tech savvy, but i suggest formatting device to exFAT file format. Might work. it worked for me...
I'd like to add that you can use kernel8 only once, to detect the NTFS volume, then go back to the standard kernel and it will work perfectly. That panic looks pretty fatal. Can you try adding "kernel=kernel8.img" to config.txt and rebooting.
Just wondering if some part of ntfs3 driver isn't compatible with 16K pages (although in my case it seemed fine).
