I have an old Raspberry Pi Zero W that I have only been using for a few weeks.
Recently I wanted to install a new system on it by burning it to MicroSD. It works, but it always freezes at some point. And the point is different every time. First it froze in the middle of the dist-upgrade, now it sometimes freezes even on first boot. I have tried using a different MicroSD card, but the problem persists.
The chip (Elpida) is also uncomfortably hot, at least 50C.
Does this mean that the Raspberry Pi Zero is defective? Is there a possible test before I discharge it?
